Our Board of Directors

At the international level, Broken Jars is governed by a Board of Directors, who oversee the work of the Executive Director, who offer creative advice and counsel to him, and who maintain the spiritual and financial integrity of the ministry. Each director is nominated by other members of the Board and serve for terms of three years. The current members of our Board are:

Paul Doth Mr. Paul Doth has ministered and taught in Curacao and Suriname, and served many years as a member of the Moravian Provincial Board in Suriname; he was for 25 years, the Director of the evangelistic institute of the Moravian church ‘Stadszending’, the center of nearly all revival movements in the nation. His heart has always focused on unity in the Body of Christ and accordingly he has served the Suriname Council of Churches (CCK) as its chief executive officer, as Chairman of the Suriname Bible Society (also serving Guyana and French Guyana) and President of the Caribbean Council of Churches. He is Chairman of the ERETS Foundation, (the nation’s first Christian radio station) and one of the Elders of the ‘Jerusalem House of Prayer for all Nations’ in Israel. He is the secretariat of Suriname’s ‘Platform of Christian Leaders’, in which 27 leaders from almost all Christian denominations in Suriname participate. This Platform is a direct offspring of the Broken Jars Colloquium in 2001. Paul and his wife, Coby, live in Paramaribo, Suriname.
Jaynie Garnett Mrs. Jaynie Garnett currently serves alongside her husband, Steve, on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ in Marketplace Ministries in Mocksville, N.C.  Janie as a National Board Certified Counselor has served her Lord in both the public and church settings.  She was co-founder of the Micah Counseling Center and was an elementary school counselor.  She has served 15 years in church settings as, in addition to Christian counselor, director of adult, children, youth, family, small group and outreach ministries. She has particularly enjoyed serving as the mentor for a local MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) group and considers it pure joy any occasion she has to speak about the importance of family.  Further, she and Steve volunteer regularly with a prison ministry, Forgiven Ministry, ministering to inmates and their children.  Janie and Steve are the proud parents to two grown children, Sean (Amy) and Jennifer (Adam), and are the very proud grandparents of six…five boys and one little girl!!  Janie desires that her walk and talk be encouraging for the hearts and minds of those in the marketplace in order that they know Jesus Christ, “in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge”…Colossians 2:2-3.
Eric Harz Mr. Eric Harz came to know Christ during his childhood.  He, along with two others students, led in founding the Christian Club at the Bridgeton Public High School in the 70’s.  In the 1990′s, he became involved with the international Reiki movement, but renounced Reiki and consequently assembled his experiences and reflected upon them from a Christian theology in his book, The Reiki Danger: Healing the Harms.  He has been active in local ministries including intercessory prayer groups and providing Summer worship and study services in Jesus’ name at Parvin’s State Park.  His primary focus now is for the Kingdom to possess southern New Jersey.  Eric and his wife Michelle, proud parents of four children, make their home in Elmer, NJ.
Andres Hernandez Rev. Andres Hernandez pastors a unique congregation in El Tigrito in central Venezuela, going beyond standard emphases on evangelistic work and equipping people for ministry. The unique focus of ministry is reflected in his nearly 18 years experience creating specialized curricula both for training leaders and for winning and discipling young children throughout the nation. This interdenominational ministry has to date seen more than 15,000 boys and girls brought to Jesus and more than 500 leaders equipped to expand the ministry. Andres has held a special burden to assist unity in the Body of Christ since 1993 when he became involved with Broken Jars ministry in Venezuela. Andres lives near where he was born in El Tigrito. He is married to Yumilva Herrera and together they oversee the growth of three daughters, Andreina, Yumilva Sulamita, and America Latina.
Joe J Rev. Joe Johnson currently serves as the National Director of Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC), Guyana.

Together with his wife, Doreen, he directs the Family Life division of CCC and is a frequent speaker/teacher at marriage and family life seminars and conferences locally and internationally.

A former ordained minister in the Moravian Church of Guyana. Rev Johnson now serves as an ordained minister in the Full Gospel Fellowship of Churches. He is part of the eldership and pastoral team at the South Road Full Gospel Assembly.  He is an active member of the Georgetown Ministers Fellowship and has a desire to see community and national life in Guyana transformed by the Gospel as the body of Christ dismantles their dividing walls and unite in the work of our Lord.

Hampton Morgan
Mr. Hampton Morgan, Jr. is the chair and a founding member of Broken Jars’ Board of Directors. He is married to Virginia Iobst Morgan and they are the parents of four grown children. Hampton and Ginny served under call to the Moravian Church for thirty years in the Virgin Islands, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. More recently they are in “tentmaking” ministry in Northeast Pennsylvania, with a special emphasis on experiencing and promoting an organic approach to church life. Hampton is a small business controller and does contract work in telecommunications. He blogs on organic church ecclesiology at http://houseofbread.wordpress.com.
Hugh Norwood Mr. Hugh Norwood is the CEO and Founder of the Trinity Education Group, a venture consulting firm specializing in the development of new businesses in the education sector.  A former senior executive with Lesley University and Laureate Education, Inc., Hugh has run several large, international business units, including A+RISE—acquired by Pearson Education, Inc. in 2009—and iPASOS, a public-private partnership with the Government of Mexico.  Following the leading of the Lord in his own life, Hugh seeks opportunities to leverage his experience and skills in support of the Kingdom, and is a member of the strategic leadership team of The Journey church community in Maryland.  Hugh is in daily awe of the gifts God has given him in his beautiful wife of 18 years, Theresa, and his sons Charlie (4) and Jonathan (2).
Dr. Cheryl Taylor is the academic dean of the Asia theological Centre for Evangelism and Missions in Singapore as well as the Doctor of Ministry Program Adviser at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (AGTS). While she currently enjoys the academic arena, teaching both at Evangel University and AGTS, she and her husband, Jay, have ministered in local church settings in Seattle and Boise, and as missionaires in Singapore. In addition, Cheryl enjoys speaking at retreats and conferences. Cheryl’s heart passion is to help believers discover and fulfill their God-given potential. This endeavor currently extends to her own two children: Joshua, 10, and Natalie, 7 1/2. It is Cheryl’s prayer that missions will always be a central focus of the Taylor family. Each year the entire family takes a month long missions trip together. “There is no greater joy than to see your children desire to share the love of Christ with children around the world.”
Anita Yard Mrs. Anita Yard is the Treasurer of Broken Jars and serves as Board Secretary.  Born again since 1985, she served in a similar position with Cornerstone Ministries Int’l (a member of its startup team), as well as a Trustee and Congregational Treasurer with Evangel Moravian Church in Toms River, NJ.  Prior to retirement, Anita held accounting and administrative positions with the Brick Township NJ Municipal Utilities Authority, and has been using job skills as well as spiritual gifts to enrich the ministry.  Lately she has devoted more time to women’s Bible studies, serving as student and then facilitator for several Beth Moore intensive studies.  She and her husband, Dick, are active in prayer groups and Bible Studies, as well as local ministries at their local congregation in Halifax, VA.
