Rev. Andrés Hernández Gil pastors a unique congregation in El Tigrito in central Venezuela, going beyond standard emphases on evangelistic work and equipping people for ministry. The unique focus of ministry is reflected in his nearly 18 years experience creating specialized curricula both for training leaders and for winning and discipling young children throughout the nation's south and east. This interdenominational ministry has to date seen more than 15,000 boys and girls brought to Jesus and more than 500 leaders equipped to expand the ministry. Andres has held a special burden to assist unity in the Body of Christ since 1993 when he became involved with Broken Jars ministry in Venezuela. His current project, PEDNCVN (Club New Life for Boys and Girls), reflects that passion, enlisting the aid of twenty two congregations in the state of Anzoatequi to win 2,000 children to Christ in mid-August 2004, and by the beginning of September, to include these new converts in scores of cell-clubs throughout the area. Andres lives near where he was born in El Tigrito. He is married to Yumilva Herrera and together they oversee the growth of three daughters, Andreina, Yumilva Sulamita, and America Latina. |
